A married couple performing a trapeze routine onAmerica's Got Talent had the scare of a lifetime when their stunt went wrong on stage.

Mary and Tyce, who perform under the name Duo Transcend, used a bar suspended several feet above the stage for their performance and even included fire on the ends of the bar and below them on the stage.
During their last trick, Tyce blindfolded himself and hung upside down, while Mary was supposed to fall backward and have her ankles caught. However, Tyce missed the catch, and Mary fell to the stage with a loud thud.

She fell on a large safety mat, but their two year old son Jaxx and his grandmother were in the audience watching, and cameras caught their concerned reaction.

After a few seconds, Mary got up from the mat to show that she was fine, aside from some likely bruising.

The couple immediately asked judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Heidi Klum, and guest judge Ken Jeong if they could try the trick once more to get it right.

"You almost got hurt very badly, and your first thought was 'Let me do that again!'" Mandel said. "Only onAmerica's Got Talent does that happen."

Jeong and Cowell agreed that the potential danger wasn't worth a do-over and convinced Duo Transcend to stay on the ground.

Their pre-fall effort, though, was enough to get the couple through to the next round of competition despite the drop, and no repeat was necessary after all
