Chris Hardwick returns to 'Talking Dead'

Hardwick's reinstatement follows an investigation that AMC undertook after he was accused of being abusive towards ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra.

Chris Hardwick will return as the host of AMC'sTalking Dead series,Variety reported.

Hardwick's reinstatement follows an investigation that AMC undertook after he was accused of being abusive towards ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra, who wrote an essay alleging that Hardwick was emotionally and sexually abusive to her during their relationship.
Hardwick will return to the show, which analyzesThe Walking Deadand Fear the Walking Dead on August 12 for the latter show's midseason premiere.

"Following a comprehensive assessment ... Chris Hardwick will return to AMC," the channel said in a statement. "We take these matters very seriously and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step."

The investigation was conducted in partnership with Ivy Kagan Bierman of Loeb & Loeb.

AMC has not yet set a date for the debut ofTalking with Chris Hardwick,the premiere of which was delayed pending the investigation.

Yvette Nicole Brown took over for Hardwick as the host forTalking Dead during the investigation and hosted two panels for San Diego Comic-Con panels that Hardwick had traditionally moderated. She will appear on both after shows as a special guest following Hardwick's reinstatement as host.

Talking Dead is frequently one of the top-rated cable shows each week an premiered during the second season ofThe Walking Dead in 2011. It began airing afterFear the Walking Dead after that show's second season in 2016 as well
