Demi Lovato will leave the hospital this week after experiencing a drug overdose, The Cut reported.

Lovato was hospitalized due to complications arising from the overdose, including extreme nausea and high fevers.
She was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning after a night of celebrating a backup dancer's birthday. Friends who called for help requested that the paramedics not use lights while on their way to Lovato's home so as not to draw attention to the incident.

According to sources, Lovato was stable that day and was awake, alert, and surrounded by family. Lovato had been unconscious when paramedics arrived, and she was treated with Narcan, which is often used to assist victims of drug overdoses, by her friends on the scene.

The pop singer is planning to enter rehab after being released from the hospital, with people close to her hoping that she will choose a live-in facility.

Lovato has struggled with addictions to alcohol and drugs, including Oxycontin and cocaine, in the past. Though she had been sober for about five years, a source forPeopletold the magazine that Lovato had been finding "creative and sneaky ways" to begin using drugs again under the watchful eyes of her team and friends.

In June, Lovato released a new single entitled "Sober," in which she apologized for relapsing after those years of sobriety.

"This is obviously a huge wake-up call," a source said toE! News."Demi doesn't want to die, and she's very grateful to be alive.
