James Corden, Melissa McCarthy starring in new film

James Corden joins Melissa McCarthy as the lead roles in New Line's action-comedy film-Superintelligence.

James Corden joins Melissa McCarthy as the lead roles in New Line's action-comedy filmSuperintelligence, according to Collider.

McCarthy plays a former corporate executive who is selected for observation by the world's first super-intelligence, a form of artificial intelligence that may have plans of world domination and is voiced by James Corden.
The film is scheduled to begin production this summer, with its release date scheduled as Christmas Day 2019. Fox and Sony are each debuting animated films on the same day.

McCarthy's husband, Ben Falcone, will direct the film, while Steve Mallory wrote the script. McCarthy and Falcone are producing the film through their company On the Day. The pair recently collaborated on another New Line comedy,Life of the Party, in which McCarthy plays a mom who goes to the same college as her daughter. The film grossed more than $50 million at the domestic box office since its premiere in May.

McCarthy is also scheduled to star in New Line's crime dramaThe Kitchen, which is based on a DC/Vertigo comic book series and will co-star Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss, due out in September 2019. Corden, meanwhile, will appear in the animated featuresSmallfootandTrolls 2while continuing to hostThe Late Late Show and the popular Carpool Karaokeseries
