Jane Fonda to receive lifetime achievement award

Michael Moore will present Jane Fonda with a lifetime achievement award at his Traverse City Film Festival.

Michael Moore will present Jane Fonda with a lifetime achievement award at his Traverse City Film Festival,according toThe Hollywood Reporter.

The festival's 14th edition will take place from July 31 through August 5 in Traverse City, Michigan and will feature screenings of several of Fonda's most memorable films, includingComing Home, Julia,andNine to Five, which will be shown on a 65-foot screen in a free event on the shores of Lake Michigan.
"I can think of no other artist who has given more to her country," Moore said. "What an honor for our festival audience to welcome and to be inspired by the work of this American icon. Her voice is as needed today as much as ever."

Fonda has been nominated for seven Oscars and won two, one each in 1971 and 1979. She has also been committed to various social justice causes throughout her career and is a member of the boards of Women's Day Media Center, which she co-founded, and V-Day: Until the Violence Stops. Fonda also founded the Jane Fonda Center for Adolescent Reproductive Health at the Emory School of Medicine
