President Trump criticized late night talk show hosts during a campaign rally in South Carolina two weeks ago, and Jimmy Kimmel responded last night on his show, The Daily Beast reported.

Trump said that when he appeared onJimmy Kimmel Live!before he was president, Kimmel waited for him outside the theater and opened the door for him as he walked in.
"I'm telling you a true story," Trump said. "I don't even think he'd deny it."

Kimmel did deny it, though, saying that the event never happened. Not only do guests never use the main entrance of the theater, as Trump said he did, Kimmel said that he never greets his guests before the show.

"I like to greet the guests on stage," he said. "I feel dumb saying hello to them and then saying hello again 10 minutes later."

During the same rally, Trump called Stephen Colbert a "low-life" and Jimmy Fallon a "lost soul," and both responded shortly after the remarks with the help of Conan O'Brien.

In a cold open that was played on bothThe Late Show andThe Tonight Show, Colbert and Fallon call each other the names that Trump has called them in the past before calling O'Brien, who suggests they be civil to each other and go to lunch at the Red Hen, the restaurant now infamous for asking White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave.

Kimmel was on vacation when Trump's comments and the hosts' response occurred.

The sketch marks a rare collaboration between late night hosts, who often compete for viewers
