Rose closed her account on Sunday and limited comments on her Instagram account to only people she knew personally after fans expressed their anger at her casting.
"Where on earth did 'Ruby is not a lesbianthereforeshe can't bebatwoman' come from -- has to be the funniest most ridiculous thing I've ever read," Rose wrote in one of her last tweets. "I cameout at 12? And have for the past 5 years had to deal with 'she's too gay' how doy'allflip it like that? I didn't change. I wish we would all support each other and our journeys."

She closed her message by saying that she was looking forward to resting and regaining some energy now that she planned to shut down her account.

"If you need me, I'll be on my Bat Phone," she wrote in closing.

Rose will appear as Batwoman during a December crossover event betweenArrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, andSupergirl. A standalone Batwoman series is currently in development and will also star Rose.

Rose is not the only female star to leave social media lately, with Millie Bobby Brown, Kelly Marie Tran, and Daisy Ridley all deleting social media accounts after experiencing similar harassment, threats, and complaints for their roles in various projects
